About Brogo and other local businesses.
Brogo is located about 15km north of Bega NSW and is a pretty diverse place. It is quite mountainous with
many creeks and a river lined with relatively rich alluvial flats that have been producing food for the Bega
valley for a couple of hundred years. Dairy farms and recently beef cattle properties dominate the better
country, the poorer country is mostly national parks and state forests with many older rural properties
being split up for hobby farms and lifestyle blocks. As the crow flies we are not to far from the Ocean with
Mumbulla mountain between us, I think we have some of the most stunning scenery in Australia. Normally
we would get somewhere around 38" (in the old scale) of rainfall spread across the year, but we have
been in and out of drought for some time now.
There are quite a few small businesses in Brogo, many are based on the tourism market, there are some
quite innovative and talented individuals running some very interesting businesses some of which are
listed below, I have also included some businesses from the wider local area.

A little about us! If you don’t already know us JTP Machinery is owned and operated by me James and my wife
Belinda. I am a qualified machinery mechanic and licensed motor vehicle repairer, with over 20 years of experience in
the trade and it is my job to manage the business and help you in the best way possible. Belinda is a fully qualified
Mum and works to keep the office and paperwork in order as well as the friendly face in the reception area. We have
been working very hard over the last ten years to build JTP Machinery into the most trusted and reliable Agricultural
machinery business on the far south coast and are happy to have you as a customer.
In our workshop Bill Allen is a fully qualified Heavy machinery mechanic and the workshop foreman, mobile service
mechanic as well as assisting with spare parts sales. Bill is very dedicated and takes servicing and repairing your
machines very seriously and likes to make sure the job is done the right way the first time. Grayson Cummings is an
indentured apprentice and is the most recent addition to the JTP staff, Grayson has a “can do” attitude, is keen to learn
and enjoys helping customers. We also have some casual staff that help out from time to time.

system service and repairs, as well as Turbocharger installation and repairs. We are stocking agents for Federal
Batteries, Baldwin filters, Otech Oils (Australian owned) , Sparex and Bare Co tractor parts in addition to our own
specialist spare parts division importing parts for Kubota, Daedong and Shibaura Tractors. We easily have the largest
range of Tractor spare parts and filters in the Bega Valley. We are agents for some of the leading brands of Tractors
including Daedong (Kioti), Shibaura, Deutz, Same and TYM.
Where is the Workshop? You will find it on the corner of Upper Cobargo rd and the Princess Highway at Brogo
( next to the “Riverview Nursery” ) Only a few hundred metres south of the Brogo Hall (“Old Time Dances”)
